This year’s Gala is a “virtual gala” that will feature inspiring videos, a silent auction, and the opportunity to support NAMI Cook County North Suburban as we fulfill our vital mission—to improve the lives of individuals with mental illness, and those who love and care for them, through education, advocacy, resources and support. The week-long, online event will introduce newcomers to NAMI CCNS, reconnect with supporters and friends, and educate the community on timely topics in mental health. Michael G. Nerheim, Lake County State's Attorney

Michael Nerheim, Lake County State's Attorney, discussed the Opioid and Vaping Crisis, as well as provided information about the programs offered through the Lake County State's Attorney's Office and the many different things his department is engaged in and ways the Lake County State's Attorney's Office helps the community.

Bonnie Lane, M.S. and Jeffrey Story, Esq.

Bonnie has a Master’s degree in both Developmental and Counseling Psychology. She provides support, advocacy, transition planning and resource referrals to families caring for an adult loved one with serious mental health issues. Bonnie is also a NAMI board member of the Cook County North Shore (CCNS) chapter.

Jeffrey Story has a law practice in Evanston focusing on Elder Law and Estate Planning, including Special Needs Trusts. Jeff is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys; Elder Counsel, LLC; the Illinois State Bar Association’s Elder Law and Trusts and Estates Sections; and the Chicago Bar Association’s Elder Law Committee.
